A combination of two hobbies, Aviation and Amateur Radio, permits my flights to be tracked via the internet.
Radio hams have set up "digipeaters" all over the country/world that permit cars and planes that are equipped with a GPS
and two meter transmitter to be tracked in real time. The information is uploaded to the internet and allows
people planted in front of their computers to watch the progress of a trip. A red dot appears each time there's a
transmission. Looks like bread crumbs to me. The dots are connected with a green line.
Contact your local ham radio club for more information. Ask about APRS and there's bound to be someone with knowledge to share.
